The charcoal-liquid scintillation devices consist of a
polyethylene vial with an active charcoal bag, filter
paper and a desiccant. The radon gas and some of the
progeny will attach to the charcoal surface. After the
testing period, the device will be closed and returned
to the laboratory for analysis. The carbon bags are
injected with scintillation cocktail and analyzed for
ten minutes. The maximum exposure time is 96 hours
(4 days) and the minimum is 48 hours (2 days).
There is an additional fee of $3.00 for the State of New
York.
